Restroom Building
We built a new restroom building because the old one was in a disastrous state structurally and hygienically.
Well for drinking water
The school “Ecole Centre Finoana” did not have fresh water. With the support of our donors, we were able to build a 17 meter deep well, which now supplies the children with fresh water. This has significantly improved the health and hygiene conditions.
Later we were able to install an electric pump to be able to pump more fresh water than with the bucket that was lowered down with a rope.

School bus
Government funding for a school bus, for example, is almost non-existent in Madagascar. With the help of our donors, the school “Ecole Centre Finoana” was able to rent a small school bus, which enabled 20 children with a handicap to attend school.
New school building
With the help of our donors, the school was able to build a new school building, with beautiful new classrooms.
Other successes
A new kitchen building was built, which significantly shortened the time needed to prepare meals and improved hygiene conditions.
With the help of our donors, we were able to provide the school with tables and benches renewed and manufactured in a durable quality that can withstand the special weather conditions in Madagascar.
We were able to support a particularly poor ethnic group that lives in the impassable mountain terrain of Madagascar. We bought and distributed clothing to a large number of children who often only have what they “wear on their bodies”. A blind girl who has never attended school in her 14 years of life has now been enabled by our donors to attend a specialized school for the blind.
Our current projects
Building a library
We would like to build another building on the school grounds of the “Ecole Centre Finoana”, in which a library will be established in order to offer the children better learning opportunities.
Construction of a guest house
This is a personal life dream of the founder of KILONGA e.V., the artist David Hardy, dit le Suisse Marocain. In the footsteps of Vincent van Gogh and Paul Gauguin, the school will build a guest house where volunteers and artists from all over the world will live and stay to teach the children of the school “Ecole Centre Finoana” and support the school.
NEW: Acquisition of an extensive water filter system
In order to enable the children to live free of disease and infections, we would like to establish a safe and clean water supply. For this purpose we intend to purchase the so-called “LIFESTRAW COMMUNITY”, as well as “LIFESTRAW HOME” filter system. Both are low-maintenance, require no power and have a robust design.
They filter bacteria, viruses, microplastics, chemicals, heavy metals and dirt from the water. This is an important step towards a future worth living for the children of our partner school.
